Can Spurs finally end their poor run of form at Wembley and Harry Kane break his goal drought in the month of August. There are too main question looming over as Tottenham set to face Burnley at Wembley on Sunday evening.
Having lost to Chelsea 2-1 on matchday 2, Spurs poor run of results at Wembley extended to 8 losses in 10 games. There are more worries for the North London club as Harry Kane’s goal drought in August continue. However, he came every close to break the duck by hitting the post against Chelsea.
Pochettino’s side were the best home side in last season’s Premier League with an incredible record of 17 wins and 2 draws from 19 games. And the goal aggregate even better with 47 goals scored against 9 conceded.
Burnley started the season on a high note by defeating defending Champions Chelsea 3-2, but failed to make the home advantage count and succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to West Brom on matchday 2. They also failed to register a single shot of goal in the home loss to the Baggies.
The Clarets are one of the worst away sides in last season’s Premier League, managing 1 win from their 19 matches, drew 4 and lost 14.
Tottenham vs Burnley: Head-to-head
Spurs are unbeaten in the last six meetings in all competitions with Burnley, 4 wins and 2 draws.
Last season, Spurs won both Premier League games, 2-1 at White Hart Lane and 0-2 at Turf Moor.
At home, Spurs won each of their last five games against Burnley, scoring 18 against 5 conceded.
Tottenham vs Burnley: Predictions
Tottenham cannot afford to drop any more points in home games. They must break the voodoo at Wembley and there is no better chance than against an extremely poor side like Burnley.
On the flipside, this is not expected to be a straight forward task, especially with Harry Kane struggling for goals. We wouldn’t take a risk by backing Spurs for outright markets, with odds priced as low as under 1.50 range.
